The book I’m reading this week is “I Sit Listening to the Wind” by Judith Duerk, a musician and music therapist who has led women’s spiritual retreats for many years. This particular book is one of several written by Duerk as a way to encourage women to seek and find their deepest meaning and purpose in life, to connect women to each other in supportive wisdom circles, and to urge women to express and celebrate themselves in life-affirming ways. The author shares personal stories as well as the stories of other women on their journey to wholeness, and Duerk continually asks the question “how might your life have been different if….” to encourage the reader to think deeper and consider the possibilities of what life has to offer. Beautifully written, it’s a book I am reading with enjoyment!
