Last summer I began dabbling a little with essential oils– primarily for personal use but also with the idea that they might be helpful to my guided imagery and music (GIM) clients.
In my quest to read and learn about aromatherapy, I found this extremely useful book by Carol and David Schiller. It’s basically a recipe book for essential oils, with guidelines for everything from bug repellent to snoring remedies. The book begins with a brief history of aromatherapy (which is interesting!) followed by some tips for simple massage techniques and how to find/purchase quality essential oils. Then the recipes begin!
The authors include simple ways to incorporate aromatherapy into daily life and convey the information in a very approachable and understandable way. Perfect for the novice (like me!). If you’re at all interested in knowing more about essential oils or finding ways to incorporate them into a holistic way of living, give this book a read!
